Stop Press - TOGMOR launch the new album on 8th November 2019.

Togmor will launch their new album, simply entitled ‘Togmor’, on Friday 8th November with a concert featuring some of the new tracks and, of course, some old favourites.   As it has been a whole 15 years since the Togs released their ‘Flip Side’ album, this new one really is  ‘long awaited and eagerly anticipated’!!

Since last year’s ‘Togmor 30’ celebration, the Togs have added to the musical line-up and now feature three fiddle players as well as enjoying the emergence of ‘multi-instrumentalism’ from other members, all making Togmor’s signature style richer and even more vibrant.

The venue for this limited ticket launch event is an intimate cosy studio setting in the Bradwell Abbey area of Milton Keynes where parts of the new album were recorded.  The studio has no alcohol licence so you are free to bring your own tipple!!  The new album will also be available.

Tickets for the event are available on a first come first served basis and, with numbers strictly limited, it is advisable to book early to avoid disappointment..

Togmor combine originality and energy in a fast moving electric set that has a wide appeal to both fans of Celtic roots music and fans of contemporary folk rock. Their music is carefully crafted to combine a vibrant mix of powerful modern rhythms with a traditional Celtic feel. Togmor interplay blazing bursts of jigs and reels with evocative acoustic songs to create a dynamic web of sounds.

With over 30 years and several CD's behind them, Togmor have been playing their own energetic brand of Celtic rock/folk music at music venues, arts centres and festivals around the UK and Europe including their own hosted Togfest festival in Milton Keynes. They have shared the stage with a wide range of musicians including Lindisfarne, Rock, Salt & Nails, Shoogleniffty, The Oyster Band, Fairport Convention, Ron Kavanagh, Whippersnapper, Kate Rusby and the late Labi Siffre to name but a few.

The distinctive sound of Togmor brings together a huge range of talent...

  • Founder member Ian Rowe with main vocals, acoustic and electric guitars
  • The dynamic fiddle sound of Julian Pentz on five string electric violin
  • Pete Jelfs with his rock steady bass lines.
  • Pete Lockwood, Drums and percussion master (with occasional flute!!)
  • Multi-instrumentalist, Euan Forrester on fiddle and Guitars

****The name Togmor comes from the Gaelic meaning ‘the big lift’. It is the name of the crane that pulled The Mary Rose to the surface of the sea...
